April’s Actor Happy Hour Recap!

Our inaugural APP-NW Actor’s Happy Hour at Mother’s Bistro
Thursday, April 21st was truly an AHH! moment!
Swell turn out -13!, great raffle –  Katie Bennett winning an hour long coaching session from Actor/ Misner Coach extraordinaire, Chris Harder, and a complimentary consultation with Ameriprise Financial Advisor, Andrew Pollack, won by yours truly – Michele Mariana, thanks to the sweet generosity of Elizabeth Zimmerman who surprised me with a raffle ticket!  And stimulating, thought and laughter provoking conversation all in a lovely welcoming space with good eats, libations and terrific wait staff!  Oh!, and the best of company!
Our original topic for discussion, Riding the Roller Coaster of Aging Through, Not Out of, Our Industry, initially took a more specific focus with the attendance of guest Jane Vogel, an actor and entrepreneur with lots to offer!  Jane is the driving force behind AGE – Age and Gender Equity in the Arts. “A movement to empower and promote the visibility of women across the lifespan in performing arts.” jv    (for more info go to www.ageinthearts.org)
Never fear! The fellows in the room more than held their own contributing to the
vital and vibrant exchange of ideas, perspectives and possibilities!  Gender Blind casting at it’s best!
Putting the call out now to rally raffle prizes!!!!  Our treasure chest is pretty empty.  Any hairdressers, masseuses, auto mechanics, coaches, bookstores, theatres, babysitters, house cleaners, cinemas, eateries, music venues, photographers, etc you may know that would like to contribute to the
betterment and support of Artists in our Industry and get their names out to a larger audience, Hit Them UP!  Thanks!
Our next 2 AHH gatherings will be Tues., May 19th, 6 to 9pm
and Tues., June 16th, 6 to 9pm at Mother’s Bistro 212 SW Stark
 & 2nd – at the corner of Stark & 2nd, entrance on Stark, (503) 464-1122.
Thanks again to all who attended and contributed to the success of AHH on the 21st!  Including the folks who were not able to stay long but still wanted to be a part of the evening.  A swell time was had by all!   See you on the 16th!
