The sad day has come… Friday May 31 marks the final day for Portland’s SAG-AFTRA office, and the last day for Executive Director Nathaniel Applefield.
Never fear, though – Portland’s actors are going to make sure that their SAG-AFTRA office closes with a BANG, and NOT a whimper! We received this message from the Portland SAG-AFTRA board last night:

SAG-AFTRA UNION MEMBERS & BELOVED STAKEHOLDERS!
You are invited to
THE SAG-AFTRA SENDOFF

It’s GOODBYE to our SAG-AFTRA office in Portland… come honor our LOCAL UNION as we say farewell.
WE’RE GOING OUT IN STYLE, AND WE WANT YOU THERE!
PS: Stakeholders are anyone who supports the work SAG-AFTRA Portland did for its members and the industry — that means you!
We hope that every APP-NW member who can will join us at the SAG-AFTRA office to thank the Portland local and Nathaniel Applefield for their support – and to show solidarity with our fellow actors as they adjust to what the office’s closure will mean to every performer (union and non) in our region! Be sure to RSVP for the event on facebook!
Have you written a letter to National Executive Director David White? If you have, send us a copy of the letter to info@app-nw.org (and if you haven’t, there’s still time! Write those letters, post them on the Occupy Portland SAG-AFTRA Facebook page, and then send us a copy!) Also, bring your head shot to the event… we want to leave a lasting impression in the office of Portland’s support for its SAG-AFTRA local!
We hope we see you on Friday. Please re-post this and make sure every Portland-area actor (union and non) sees it!
